Kate started studying piano in 6th grade under Elena Pitulee at the Piano Shoppe. When she attended Pennsbury High School, she participated in choir for all four years, in countless school concenrts and at the 'Big Sing' at Princeton University.

In addition to teaching piano at Music Forte, Kate is currently studying music, including theory and composition, at West Chester University. She also completing two years of music study at Bucks County Community College. She continues her exploration of piano with Edward Ferdinand, an accomplished pianist who studied at the Curtis Institute of Music and Juilliard, and Dr. Steven Bresnen, a theory and composition professor andBucks County Community Music Department Chair. Her academic accomplishments include making the President's Honor's List four consecutive semesters; being inducted into the National Honors Society of Leadership and Success and serving as President of the Tyler Literary Society at Bucks County Community College.

She also volunteers to perform at local nursing homes, and she recently won the Award of Excellence from The Association of Church Musicians in Philadelphia for Outstanding Participation in Music Ministry.

Kate's teaching style: "I use an individualized approach: focusing on both the needs and interests of the student in order to keep them engaged and interested in learning."

Advice to new musicians: "Though the beginning work is tedious and we all just want to reach the end, I encourage all students beginning in music to keep with it, practice as much as possible, and the next thing you know you'll be playing everything you want to!"

Fun facts about Kate: When she is not playing and writing music, Kate also writes novels, draws and paints.
